点评：Emerald Lake is beautiful and is one of the best bodies of water to see in the mountains. We got the opportunity to see it on a nice sunny day and truly appreciated the nice turquoise colour of the lake. The area has a good trail to get around the lake and you can do activities here like rent a canoe or enjoy a meal at the cafe that overlooks the lake. This area is free to enter with a parks pass and in 2026 the National Parks Pass was free in the summer. We spent about 30 minutes in the area and would also recommend checking out the natural land bridge before getting back on to the highway as well.
The area is one of the most popular spots in the park and parking was insane. We knew it would be busy when there was a sign at the bottom of the mountain near Field showing the parking lot was full. You may luck out and the staff will let you into the lot if a spot opens up but we didn't and had to park along the road. Some people parked about 2 km away from the lake - it was just very busy. There were a lot of people in the area and there were long waits for the canoe rentals but if you walk along the trail the crowd thins out. This area is not as popular as Lake Louise in Banff but we could see them implementing a shuttle service and paid parking to help with the crowds in the near future.
