Chinatown Victoria - Cultural Gem and Foodie's Pleasure
Victoria’s Chinatown National Historic Site的点评
点评:These few walkable blocks are dense with character and a nice way to get your steps in from a Cruise ship stop. (wink)
The area includes traditional bakeries, Chinese restaurants, tea shops, and historic landmarks like the Chinese Public School and nearby temples that speak to the community’s long-standing roots. I had a wonderful dim sum experience at Don Mee
Chinatown Victoria is compact and historic. The oldest Chinatown in Canada, it carries a strong sense of history with the Gate of Harmonious Interest at the entrance marking the transition into the neighborhood.
The atmosphere is lively during the day with visitors exploring the shops with the highlight is undoubtedly Fan Tan Alley, a narrow passageway lined with boutique shops and small creative spaces. It feels like stepping into another era or perhaps a chapter in a Amy Tan book, where every turn reveals something unexpected.
