点评：This place had been recommended by a very frequent visitor to the city and we were so glad to take a visit there. Even though we just missed the SHERLOCK HOLMES exhibit we were blown away by the incredible celebration of the founding of Hochelaga through it's development into this bustling city....all on the original site!!!
Usually cities just dig up and bulldoze over this history but this museum overwhelmed me with their respect for those Quebecois who had gone before.
The start of your tour is in a completely immersive theatre which caters very well to only English and French as another reviewer mentioned. After that there are many chambers sous terraine filled with a progressive history of artifacts beautifully presented.
The long walkway through the ORIGINAL SEWER (cleaned up of course!!!!) is at first very disorienting but truly awesome when you realize the work which has gone into this museum.
Later rooms with glass over foundations (again a bit startling...) are massively impressive.
I wish we had the same appreciation and respect for our literal historic "roots" here in Toronto.
