点评:We did the downstream kayak trip. 2 kayaks, gear and the 2 hour minimum was $101, plus $20 deposit. Parking is expensive at the Lake Michigan lots: County lot is $5 but fills up fast, the other parking lot and roadside parking requires a National Park pass, $25 for a week or $45(?) for a season pass. You can purchase National Park parking passes at Riverside office. The business itself is run well. Great staff, well organized. You visit the main building 3 times. 1st visit, you watch a video explaining the process, fill out the paperwork and pay. You then drive your vehicle to a parking lot located at the mouth of the river where it dumps into Lake Michigan. A van picks you up and returns you to the main building (visit #2) where you launch your kayak or canoe. At the end of the trip you leave your kayak or canoe with their staff. If you’ve paid the extra $5 you can leave your paddles and life jacket with them and hang around the beach. Otherwise you return them to the office yourself. Either way, you must drive your vehicle back to the main office (visit #3) to get your deposit back. The river itself is very clean and easy to navigate. Our biggest problem was navigating around all the tubers. There are a lot of them!! In some places it was like navigating through rush hour traffic in Detroit or Chicago. No disrespect to the Riverside business, but we won’t be repeating this trip.
