Great surprise! A hidden treasure!

点评：We visited the Ruins of Pueblo Quilmes with no expectations at all. Our original plan was simply to go to Cafayate, visit some wineries, and enjoy the road after coming from San Pedro de Atacama. By chance, we saw the sign for Pueblo Quilmes and decided to stop.
What a wonderful surprise.
The site is exceptionally well preserved, clearly maintained with care and respect for its history. The museum is excellent, well organized, and very informative. But the highlight of the visit was undoubtedly the local guide, Sergio.
Sergio explains the history of Pueblo Quilmes with true passion. He has deep knowledge of the site, tells the story in an engaging and respectful way, answers questions patiently, and clearly loves what he does. His explanations made the visit come alive and gave real meaning to the ruins.
We also took the opportunity to walk up to the top of the hill. The climb is a bit tiring, but it is absolutely worth it. The view from the top, overlooking the entire archaeological site and the surrounding landscape, is breathtaking and unforgettable.
This visit turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. Highly recommended for anyone traveling through Cafayate or the region…
