点评:A small “museum” dedicated to the history and maintenance of the iconic Saint Bernard dog. Named for a historic animal who reportedly helped to save 40 people from death, this highly interactive place makes it a worth excursion.
From Montreux where we were staying it was a short 30 minute train then 20 minute walk to reach the complex shaped like a dogs paw. Throughout the day they’re our demonstrations by the care team of grooming, medical treatment and physical therapy-all on the upper level.
On the main level there’s a cool virtual reality feature in multiple languages with 4 different stories of history. Outside there are enclosures with a dozen or more dogs and at certain times in the fall there are puppies.
The grounds also have numerous other animals perfect for kings like bunnies and black nosed sheep.
While interacting with the dogs is very limited, we happened to be outside when one of the care team was embarking on the daily walk with two of the dogs. She was kind enough to answer questions and said we could touch the dogs if the dogs chose to come to our group of 4 adults (which we did).
One of the highlights of our time in Switzerland.
