点评:We had a half day to spend before our return flight and decided to check out the museum. We’re so glad we chose to go there. It was more than we expected from the outside and even when we entered, it didn’t seem like it would take long to visit. A couple of hours later, we reluctantly decided it was time to get lunch. The main corridor has many unexpected rooms or galleries off to the side that weave around and tell story after story of Hawaiian military history, Hawaiian involvement in World War II after the Pearl Harbor attack, and in the Korean and Vietnam wars. I would say it was engaging because the human side was presented alongside the unvarnished truth about each war. How different history would have been if one untrained duty officer had taken seriously the warnings of a large group of planes sighted on the radar’s oscilloscope approaching Pearl Harbor.
