点评:I visited the shopping centre, with sadly only a short time available to me. Parking to get in, if you miss the turning, is a headache in itself. Make sure you know the way!!! miss it, and it's a heck of a way around, unless your sat nav reroutes you in a friendly way.
I'd also say that the design of the car park is odd. There are huge pillars, and if you have a larger car, say a BMW 5 series, it's not easy to park.
That being said, the biggest issue with the car park is not parking as such (tho it is a little tight to go up); it's the manner of finding your car afterwards. More on that soon.
Many shops when I visited were closed. Either closed, or empty. So it made the place feel "unwanted".
Outside in the square, I Swear it was filled with Just Eat and Deliveroo bikes. There are some takeaway places, and there much have been 20 of them all parked up.
I didn't have much time there sadly, but I would recommend Wetherspoons, and the Corn Exchange for an explore.
Finding the bathrooms is no easy task. There are signs, but it's not easy to follow. and I went the length of the place twice to find them. One of them was in fact taking me all the way back to John Lewis!
When you head home and pay for your ticket, let's say you park at th eback of the car park, where there are less pillars. You walk the length of it, and your car isn't there. Wrong floor. Blast. How do I go down? I asked. They told me "You have to go all the way back there, down or up, and then all the way back to your space".
So if you are unsure on what floor, this could be one heck of a "Step count".
I did it once, and yep, still the wrong floor. So instead, even tho the door said it was alarmed, I went down the fire escape. And I went to 2 floors before I found my car. Way simpler.
Yes you can find their helpline, but that means waiting, and perhaps them scouring the car park for you - rather than just popping up or down the fire escape.
I did write to Highcross to confirmed I was not meant to do what I did.
What I do it like that again: Yes.
Like any car park, you need stairs at both ends, so you can get up and down easy.
Getting to the centre of Leicester itself is NOT a pleasant experience. you think there is only 5-10 mins left, but then you have Residential areas, shopping areas, start and stopping a lot of the time. Busses, you name it. Actually, similar to the centre of London.
But not a journey I'd be planning on in a hurry again. Sorry.
John Lewis!
