点评:In most parts of the world entering an art gallery is intimidating. The walls are sterile, the staff is dressed to the nines, and the artwork is so expensive you'd have to take out a 2nd mortgage on your house just to own a share of it.
This is not the case for the Amman Panorama Art Gallery. Located near the Roman Theatre, in Amman's most historic quarter, you will find an art gallery that is down to earth, with reasonable prices, and that supports local artists. Knowing their hardwork is being rewarded, while offering me an accessible piece of original art from another corner of the globe is exactly what buying souvenirs should be like.
In addition to art, they also sell an assortment of other items, such as ceramics, that are made by local women's groups. Not only did I leave there with a painting I will forever cherish, but I also got a beautiful mug made by hand, and a Shmah for my father. All at incredibly reasonable prices.
I am beyond impressed by this establishment. If there's one thing I noticed in Amman, it's that local artisans are thriving, and finding great ways to reach tourists with their beautiful work. If I'm ever back in Amman, this gallery will surely be my first stop.
