Perfect (and very easy) cenote stop -- you don't need to go on a tour!

点评：We were staying in Riviera Maya (at the Edition - amazing), and wanted to do a day trip and see a cenote, and this was the BEST. We went early, as the reviews advised, and got there around 9am.
This is how it goes:
1. We drove up to the entrance (right off the highway) and paid an entrance fee of 180 pesos each. (About a half hour from our hotel.)
2. We parked our rental car and left most of our things in the locked car (totally safe).
3. At the snack bar, we paid 40 pesos for a locker key and locked up the car key and our towels.
4. We took showers (no sunscreen allowed) and then we got in the cenote, which was totally gorgeous.
TIP: Bring water shoes -- the rocks can be slippery.
5. There were only 4-5 other people there since we got there so early--more people came later, but it never felt too crowded. We jumped off the cliff into the water, and we let the little fish nibble the dead skin off our feet. All super fun! We were in the water for a couple of hours.
6. We had empanadas from the snack bar before we left. 10/10.
Bonus: there was a band of coatis (!) hanging out at the snack bar when we arrived! And we saw beautiful green iguanas too.
