Snorkeling with turtles from Akumal beach

点评：Booked with vendor on the beach just outside of our hotel (Secrets Akumal)
Our guide for our snorkeling trip was Mariana, she met us on the beach and walked us to near the dive centre to get our life vests (mandatory) we had our own snorkeling equipment. She gave a talk on what we should expect and explained what to do if a turtle came too close. What we didn't realise until then was that Mariana would be towing us in the water using a small lifesaver ring.
We were amazed by Mariana's strength and equally amazed by the sight of the turtles. We saw at least six turtles ranging in size from around a foot and a half to three feet, we were within touching distance but abided by rules to not touch or interfere with the turtles in any way. Mariana took pictures and video of our time in the water ( prearranged for a small separate fee) so we have a record of this truly amazing experience.
