瓜达卢普圣玛利亚大教堂的点评
点评：Basílica de Guadalupe is a must-see site, even if you’re not Catholic. We were fortunate to have a knowledgeable tour guide who explained the many landmarks throughout the complex and brought its history to life.
We visited the spot where the Virgin Mary is said to have appeared to Juan Diego, followed by a small chapel detailing each of the apparitions. Our guide also pointed out visible earthquake faults near the church, which added fascinating geological context to the visit.
Next, we explored the original basilica and saw firsthand the dramatic sinking and arching of the structure. It’s incredible that these historic buildings have been preserved despite the shifting ground beneath them. Finally, we entered the newest basilica and were able to get an up-close view of Juan Diego’s mantle. It was truly impressive and a powerful way to conclude the visit.
