Amphithéâtre D'el Jem的点评
点评：If you're holidaying anywhere near this spectacular site then visiting is a no brainer. Transport & entrance fee are relatively great value compared to any similar ranking world class archeological sites elsewhere.
It's massive & very well preserved, but the real draw is that you are able to explore so much of it & climb the steps so high up within the intact higher tiers, or down into the holding pens under the arena. This gives you an amazing impression of what it was like in its heyday (without the gore obviously) but also amazing views.
I've been to the Coliseum in Rome too, & although that is larger, the overall experience here I consider is much better.
In a nutshell El Jem amphitheatre is phenomenal. A little smaller than the one in Rome, but better preserved & so much more explorable (& better value).
Don't hesitate! Although I guess you are much more likely to enjoy this if you also enjoy antiquities in general - & the Gladiator film 😁
