Letaka Safaris的点评
点评：Our 9 night, 10 day mobile safari with Letaka was genuinely a life changing experience. We flew into Moremi, then made our way to Mababe and Savuti in Chobe, spending three nights in each place. I went into the trip excited but honestly a little nervous about being so remote and completely without service, especially being outdoors for that long. By the end, I found myself not wanting to go back to normal life.
The wildlife was incredible, but what made the experience so special was everything in between. Sitting around the campfire at night talking, looking at more stars than I have ever seen, laughing until our stomachs hurt, and just being completely present was something I did not realize how much I needed. We went into this trip not knowing any of the other guests, and coming from completely different countries and backgrounds, I was not sure what to expect. Being disconnected from our phones actually helped us to connect with each other on a much more personal level. We left having made genuine friendships that I hope we keep for a very long time.
I truly cannot say enough good things about our team. Bait was an absolutely incredible guide. His knowledge seemed endless. Whether we were tracking animals, spotting something hidden in the distance, explaining animal behavior, answering our million questions, or telling stories around the fire, he made every day fascinating. You could tell how much experience and passion he has, and having him as our guide made the entire safari so much more memorable.
Mmolah was our incredible chef. I still cannot believe the food he was able to make in the middle of the bush with such limited resources. Every meal was so delicious. I genuinely looked forward to seeing what he was going to come up with next, and somehow he kept surprising us. It was honestly some of the best food I have had on a trip, which is saying a lot considering we were literally camping in the middle of Botswana.
Evidence was such a joy to be around and was incredibly accommodating. He was always so kind and attentive and managed to make everything feel easy and comfortable. He brought such a great energy to the group. And of course, Chief was always there working hard alongside everyone and was another familiar and friendly face who became part of our little camp family.
There is something really special about the way Letaka does this. You are truly out in the bush, but the team somehow creates this little home for you in the middle of nowhere. You wake up surrounded by wildlife, spend your days exploring, come back to an incredible meal, sit around a fire under the stars, and do it all again the next day. It is simple in the best possible way.
I came home feeling like I had experienced something that was much bigger than just a vacation. I disconnected from my phone, met people I never would have crossed paths with otherwise, saw things I will never forget, and laughed more than I have on any other trip. I already know I want to come back, and I want to bring every friend and person I know with me.
If you are considering doing a mobile safari with Letaka, do it. The remoteness might seem intimidating at first, but that ended up being one of my favorite parts. Ten days later, I did NOT want to leave.
