点评：First of all, for travellers who might be a little confused how to get on a tour of the Palacio Nacional Diego Rivera Murals, these are the steps as at December 2025:
1) After 9:30, temporary barriers that control entry to the Government areas during the working week are removed
2) Proceed to the entrance of the Museo Histórico Palacio Nacional which is in Moneda Street and opens at 10am
3) The queue for the Rivera tours develops immediately.
4) When the door of the museum opens, you will be allocated to a ticket booth according to your preference for a Spanish or English tour. The first tour is at 10:30 in English. I got the impression that tours may be half-hourly, but this needs to be verified.
5) Security is strict so you will need to leave bags and may not take videos. Photos are ok though you will be told where they are forbidden. ID such as passports are required. Tickets are free.
6) You cannot reserve a tour place for the next day and tours are not run every day because of the operation of the Presidential Office and therefore you are well advised to take your place in the queue at the earliest opportunity to allow yourself a second opportunity. The CDMX info booth on Zocalo square 5 mins away may be able to help you with specific question. Alternatively, try the Museo Historico during its opening hours.
In practice, the process is smooth once you know the rules.
Our guide, Claudia, was enthusiastic, informative and very systematic in her description of the wonderful Rivera murals. They are very detailed so we were delighted she was so thorough and well-informed. She also delivered commentary on the history of the palace and the beautiful gardens. Like Mexicans in general, she was friendly to a fault and highly engaging.
