I booked a Heathrow airport return trip with 1ST Airport Taxis and was charged an additional £15 because my flight was delayed by one hour.
This is particularly disappointing because the company advertises that they track your flight and adjust pickup times accordingly. Their customer service promise also states there is no extra charge for flight delays and that waiting time is managed based on the actual landing time.
In this case, the delay was announced more than 10 hours before the flight arrived in Heathrow, meaning the company had significant advance notice. This was not a last-minute runway delay — it was known well in advance.
If flight tracking and delay adjustment are included in the service, and delays are accounted for, then charging extra in these circumstances feels inconsistent with what is publicly advertised.
The driver himself was fine, but the unexpected surcharge and contradiction between the advertised policy and what was applied have left a poor impression. I would not use this company again.
I would urge the company to review how their flight monitoring policy is being applied, as it does not reflect what is stated on their website.
