Walter's Way Tours的点评
点评：What an amazing experience! First of all...Walter does indeed exist! We had booked our Southern Ireland tour online and as this was our first trip to Europe, we were hesitant, but decided to go with all the lovely reviews here and on Facebook. Our driver, Marty, was incredible. Both Marty and Walter are knowledgeable about their homeland, and very welcoming to American tourists. They shared the history of Ireland past, and how it informed the country in the present. We were able to have experiences that you just wouldn't get if you put a trip together DIY or went on a larger tour. We went to a family owned pub, pulled a Murphys (it's better than Guinness - put it on your list to drink!), had a fun demonstration of hurling (the Irish sport :) ). We attended a sheep herding demonstration, stopped for ice cream, had a customized tour at every stop, and the recommendations to experience local flavor were top notch - make sure to take them up on the recommendations & be adventurous. Each night is on your own, and we always had recommendations for dinner spots (beyond the hotel). All of the hotels were comfortable and clean, with breakfast included. Our morning gathering times for the bus weren't too early, either.
Going back to do the Northern Ireland tour is definitely on our radar and we would not hesitate to recommend or use Walter's team again. Our group was myself, my husband, and another adult family member (all empty-nesters). The experience exceeded all my expectations, and even my hopes, for the trip.
Walter's team is very responsive to emails, but you won't receive proactive communication (as a marketing person, I'd be a bit more proactive). We took them up on their Dublin hotel recommendation (Academy Plaza), and it worked out well.
