点评：We took the train on a Tuesday so that we could visit St Jacob's market afterwards. The train makes 4 stops - St. Jacob's Market, St. Jacob's town, Elmira, Northfield. However the first three are the most important. We went all the way to the end - Elmira and had hoped to see the town but unfortunately the shuttle into the town only runs on Thursdays and Saturdays. it is a 30 minute walk into town and the train schedule indicated we would only have 2 or 4 hours in Elmira. We did want to visit the market back in St. Jacob's so elected to find a restaurant in Elmira and then take the train back. We ate at a newish restaurant called SmokinQ. Just two blocks up the road from the train station (the restaurant was a hidden gem, so glad we found it)
The train has a premium car where there are more comfortable seats and includes bottled water, snacks. The price was $49.00 compared to around $25 for bench seating .
It was a very nice adventure for the day and we saw any families with young children.
the staff in the cars are all volunteers and have a wealth of knowledge about he stops.
The weather, the stops, the volunteers and the adventure made for a perfect day.
PS - look up their website as they offer both a Christmas Train and a fall train
