I called several other times during their business hours and hung up in frustration after being dumped to voicemail. My calls and voicemails went unanswered, and my email inquiry was ignored.
When I arrived in Savannah, I continued trying. Again, I was sent to voicemail. I even contacted the general customer service line at Haig Point, hoping they could assist. They were unable to reach a live person at the stables, and instead took my information and told me they would give my information to a manager in the trail ride department. I left my name and cell number and waited for a return call. None came.
After leaving a final voicemail on my second day in Savannah with still no reply, I gave up on the organization entirely.
I understand that Daufuskie Trail Rides is affiliated with a larger resort and that staffing issues may occur. However, the complete lack of communication—despite repeated, polite outreach—felt more like indifference than a logistical shortfall. There is no online booking system and absolutely no follow-up to the means of communication they designate (email and voicemail).
While I imagine the trail ride itself might be enjoyable if you’re lucky enough to book it, that was simply not possible in my case due to their failure to respond. For that reason, I’m giving them one star. Customer service is the gateway to any great experience, and unfortunately, I never even made it past the gate.
