Fascinating cultural educational experience
Hand of Man - Museum of Natural History, Cultural Arts & Conservation的点评
点评：We stopped off here on the way to Ladysmith as the weather was really bad with storm like torrential rain☔️🌪️🌨️ and we were looking for somewhere to hunker down. ☔️
Well this turned out to be a good chance choice and an amazing cultural experience.
Access is easy as there is a large free car park right outside the museum and good facilities inside (A rest room and shop but no cafe) The museum is housed in an old school.
We were welcomed by a well informed and cheerful receptionist. We were given an electronic tablet to take around the museum and a clear explanation on how to use it with the numbers at each display. This was very useful indeed and a great idea as then the displays were less cluttered
We were only expecting a display of first nation artefacts but it turned out that the museum was packed full with cultural artefacts from around the word and it was astounding! You could spend a couple of days taking all this in and certainly a day!! Its good for children (I would say little ones not so much?) as well as adults and certainly ensures the visitor leaves with a lot of new knowledge from cultural communities around the world
The museum is well laid out as you go room to room and there are a lot of natural history and prehistoric displays intermingled with the cultural exhibits that are equally as interesting
Top tip: This is a great stop off from Victoria on the way to ladysmith or Duncan or as a destination in its own right
All in all this museum is a keeper and a well curated tour around the world and well worth a visit
