Very pretty, but without warning, large rogue waves can appear without warning

点评：My husband, myself and 2 friends stopped here on a Sky Princess excursion on November 8, 2025 for what was supposed to be an unexpected beach stop as the restaurant we were to go to with our bus passengers was not ready and our tour guide thought it would be nice to stop for 20 minutes at this beach and take pictures. There was an open public rock pathway that led out to a lookout point. A gigantic, forceful rogue wave hit us with such impact, it felt like a semi-truck had slammed into our backs. I was slammed into the rock retaining wall, my husband hit the steel guardrail, my friend was thrown down on the rock path and her 78 year old husband was launched up in the air and thrown into the ocean probably 100 yards away from the lookout point. He barely could make it back to the shore without some help. We waited 2 hours to get to a hospital. I had 9 staples placed in my head, my husband had 8 sutures and my friend's husband had several sutures placed in multiple areas on his body as he was thrown into volcanic rock jutting out of the now violent and turbulent ocean.
Others also were injured and thrown into the ocean. We heard after the fact that there had been a warning given by authorities in the Canary Islands that there was a red flag alert to stay away from coastal regions due to massive rogue wave activities. We were not aware when our guide should have known. 4 weeks later, I still look like I have sustained a horrific accident. We are thankful to be alive. We heard that several people died on the island that day, and just recently,
unbelievably enough, more people have died in Tenerife from rogue waves on December 7, 2025. Beautiful but can turn dangerous and deadly.
