Our Favourite Experience After 3 Months in Southeast Asia

点评：Three months into backpacking through Southeast Asia, this incredible experience doing the 7-day Ha Giang Big Loop with local drivers Bear and Chieu was truly the highlight of our trip! We highly recommend doing this trip with Opi Adventures.
Having only been on a motorcycle briefly once before, I was a little apprehensive about taking on this adventure, but Bear made me feel safe and comfortable on the back of his bike - he even made going over bumpy bits fun by singing a bumpy road song and making silly kid sounds! Partway through the trip I started to think maybe I want to learn how to drive a motorbike too!
I knew the scenery would be spectacular, but I didn't realize how much fun we would have with our two new Vietnamese best friends, who became like family to us. Every day we visited attractions, ate meals, and had impromptu roadside dance parties together.
Somehow they always managed to dodge big tour groups, and timed out visits perfectly for a quieter, more intimate experience. They were flexible to adapt the itinerary to our interests, and explore new places they'd never been.
We ate delicious meals together in local restaurants - some that had never seen tourists before! Bear was so helpful in making sure my special dietary requirements were taken care of: we enjoyed gluten free feasts together, family-style - including with the family at one of our homestays. We loved how much more immersive it was vs other groups that socialized with fellow tourists while the drivers all ate together off to the side.
Bear's English was excellent, and we had fun teaching him new expressions like "I'm going to skip to the loo!" Chieu kept us entertained with great music, and made an amazing video compilation each day with photos and video clips of our trip that we will treasure forever.
These guys love what they do, and it really shines through. We are so grateful and so happy we did this with them! Cảm ơn,
