Selvatura Sloth ‘Sanctuary’ - avoid!

点评：Sold as the ‘Selvatura Sloth Sanctuary Tour’. This was not a sanctuary, this was more like a sloth ‘zoo’. There was no sanctuary, it was the Selvatura Adventure theme park.
The tour was way too big and too loud, and little information was given about the sloths , their provenance or their rehabilitation. It was all very suspect.
The conditions could have been better: sloths are kept in a hugely hot dome, far hotter than their natural habitat; there are no ‘sloth trees’ inside, and those that are there are nowhere near as tall as they would be in their natural
habitat. Also the sloths are fed on a diet of carrots and green beans, not their natural diet.
One of the saddest things was that directly outside was a crushed blue morpho butterfly.
Had we realised what this tour was then we would have cancelled. Avoid at all costs!
