Wasted an entire travel day on one transfer

点评：I booked a transfer from Monteverde to Manuel Antonio. We arrived 3 hours late! What should have been a 4.5h drive became an almost 8h drive. There were traffic jams, for which the tour provider isn't responsible BUT there are responsible for making lengthy, unnecessary stops. When we were supposed to stop for 10min, the driver (Claudio) disappeared for 30min! This resulted in us getting stuck in the main traffic although we departed at 8am. We had FIVE in-between stops which is ridiculous for this distance.
When we reached Manuel Antonio, my destination was up first. The driver just passed it! He said he would drop me off last, without an explanation. So I had to spend an extra 20min in the car. He appeared quite annoyed at having to drop me off (I guess he didn't like me because I couldn't speak Spanish? I'm from Germany and wouldn't discriminate tourists who don't speak German). On the drive back, as I was the only person left, he passed my destination again! I kept yelling 'stop' and then immediately climbed out of the car when he halted shortly. He drove me down a mountain although my accommodation was on top of it! So I had to climb up the mountain with my luggage while he passed me in the car.
Giving one extra star for actually bringing me to Manuel Antonio. The rest was horrible. If you're a female solo traveler in Costa Rica, I strongly advise against booking transfers with this provider.
