Sigulda New Castle的点评
点评：A nice place to spend half a day. The New Castle is more a stately home. Not many furnishings but beautiful architectural details. Not much is left of the Old Castle (maybe because its stones were used to build its newer neighbour!) but atmospheric. A crew were setting up a large stage so presumably there are concerts here. Great view of the Guaja valley from the platform.
From the castles, you can walk through a wood, have lunch or a drink, and visit the artisan workshops (there was no craft market). I purchased beautiful earrings from the jewellery studio. I would have purchased cards from another studio but the young woman working there purposely ignored me as I stood a metre from her with my chosen cards, preferring to scroll on her phone. I put the cards down and left!
The castles are not signposted. Take Raina Iela then Pils Iela. The castles are just behind the white church.
