点评：We love musical theatre. We are also very fortunate to see a number of amateur productions on a fairly regular basis. What has struck us us how professional amateur productions have become. From the production values itself, to the performance, music, dance. Watching a professional show that dips below these levels is therefore disappointing. This was our experience with The Sound of Music. It was perhaps telling the large numbers of unoccupied seating on a prime night. The professional cast was more gorbals than Goebbels. You'd understand if you went. Think The Producers and 'Springtime.... for the general feel. Lots of enthusiasm however and the amateur cast did a great job. Whilst initially disappointed hearing the change from Rep, having seen this performance, it's a much needed change. Not least regarding a professional orchestra.
Theatre itself was looking good. A tad cool perhaps. We had pre dinner which we thought was good value and the staff were both attentive and friendly.
