Incredible adventure with the ancient - and modern - Maya

点评：We had an amazing day with Eco Mayan Adventures! This was truly the highlight of our entire trip.
We did the full day Cobá and Punta Laguna tour. Our guide Bernardo was knowledgeable, patient, friendly, and gave us so much information in excellent English (and later chatted in French with some other travelers we met). The Cobá ruins are incredible, and you can climb to the top of the pyramid on the recently completed wooden stairs. It's still a challenging climb, but the view at the top is amazing. Afterward we swam in a cenote, had an incredible lunch with a Mayan family at their home in the jungle, participated in a cleansing ceremony with a Mayan shaman, ziplined across a lake while looking for spider and howler monkeys (saw lots of spider monkeys, but the howlers were napping), and canoed back across. Our teens played a pickup game of soccer with our host family in a clearing in the jungle, and that will be a memory they cherish for life.
Jesus, the founder of the company, led our nature hike in Punta Laguna and was so knowledgeable about the plants and animals. We arranged the tour with him, and communication was excellent (he's multilingual, too), and he was so warm and helpful.
I can't recommend this company highly enough. Best of all, you're supporting the Mayan community and the ecosystems they're working to protect. It's an incredible experience you'll be so glad you did.
