点评：We actually didn't go
Our granddaughter's Bat Mitzvah was coming up & our son & his wife found "Congregation Mikvé Israel-Emanuel " in Curacao & fell in love with the place.
Contacts were made with the Rabbi & dated were set. Airline tickets were purchased & accommodation was arranged for the 15 family members who were to attend.
A few weeks ago the Rabbi called & requested to hear our granddaughter recite some of the blessings. Our granddaughter as a diagnosed anxiety disorder & froze when requested to recite. Our son assured the Rabbi that she knows the readings & offered to share recordings. The Rabbi refused stating that Mikvé Israel-Emanuel is a "serious synagogue" & our granddaughter was not "serious" & cancelled the Bat Mitzvah event.
Subsequently they received an email from the vice-president of the board saying that they may reconsider if medical prof, of our granddaughter's condition was offered.
Te Bat Mitzvah will be held in Canada.
