Great afternoon on the Kennet and Avon canal.
The Rose of Hungerford的点评
点评：Our P&G Associates group were staying at the Warner's Hotel at Littlecote for a weekend break.
A cruise along the Kennet and Avon canal was booked on the Rose of Hungerford on the Sunday.
We picked up the boat at the quay at Hungerford. Where the volunteers helped some of the less able bodied in our group onboard.
We took our seats and there were a lovely selection of refreshments onboard from tea and water to beer.
We settled down to our cruise after a safety talk on things to do or not to do.
The whole crew were excellent very knowledgeable on the history of the canal.
I spent a bit of time talking to one of the volunteers (unfortunately I forgot his name) and he told me about all the history from the building of the canal by the navvies to the water sources that filled the canal after it was built.
I was engrossed and found it so interesting.
We were allowed off the boat while it was turned around half way through the cruise.
We watched the volunteers open and close the lock while watching the beautiful Red Kite above us.
I would recommend this cruise it was excellent.
Like I said earlier the volunteers were friendly, professional and so knowledgeable.
