点评：Six of us had a fantastic vacation for four days from Smiths Falls to Westport and back. We loved the peaceful & quiet waterways, the super friendly & helpful lock masters & fellow boaters we met and the birds & wildlife we saw. Westport was a lovely destination with very helpful and welcoming harbor staff. We recommend eating at the Cove there. The boat was very well equipped and well laid out. The kitchen has lots of storage room and a big fridge. The cabins are small so we booked a boat with one more cabin than we needed and used it for luggage. Without this it would have been a squash.
The staff at Le Boat are excellent. The communications beforehand were very clear and helpful. Please make sure you read what they send out. It's all very useful advice. The check in procedure and orientation is done really well.
Smiths Falls is a great point of departure. We enjoyed eating at the Lockmaster, stayed the night before at the Best Western (good breakfast included) and shopped for provisions at Jonsson's. After we checked out of the boat we had breakfast at the Stacked Pancake House - very good avocado toast.
However, the recommendation I make for Le Boat comes with caveats. Any one traveling on the canal in June/July must be prepared for heat (no a/c on the boat), mosquitoes, storms, and small sleeping cabins. Plus, we had several experienced boaters in our group and yet still struggled at times with mooring the Horizon 4. It's a big boat. But, so many people along the way helped us. Canadians really are very friendly and nice.
