Excellent Birding and Photography in Costa Rica

点评：Costa Rica Focus (CRF) provided us with a tailor made, private birding and photography trip in Costa Rica that far exceeded our hopes and expectations. They responded by phone within a couple of hours of my submitting their online information form. Regular communications after that were always timely and informative. They suggested options with clear descriptions about the places where we would stay and what we might expect to see. Importantly, they listened to our interests; we are neither dedicated birders nor professional photographers but we are interested in both and CRF planned a trip that was perfect for us. The accommodations were not luxurious but were very comfortable, provided good food, and were ideally sited for excellent birding. Adriana was always available for questions during planning and checked in with us a couple of times during our vacation.
A key element in making our adventure so successful was our guide and driver, Erick Castro, who has 30 years of experience. He was fantastic, knowing not only bird identifications by sight and sound but also by habitat, preferred foods, nest type and likely location. He also comfortably discussed the natural history of Central America, especially as related to local ecology. Along the way, he gave a good summary of the political and social history of the region. Finally, Erick was a personally pleasant and quietly confidant companion with whom we enjoyed spending nearly two weeks.

He was fantastic, knowing not only bird identifications by sight and sound but also by habitat, preferred foods, nest type and likely location. He also comfortably discussed the natural history of Central America, especially as related to local ecology. Along the way, he gave a good summary of the political and social history of the region. Finally, Erick was a personally pleasant and quietly confidant companion with whom we enjoyed spending nearly two weeks.
