点评:Unfortunately I'm this year having to give The Boatyard a VERY BAD 2 star rating - I've been coming here for years on every trip to Barbados and I have usually given a 5 star rating each time, not this year.
I found the whole experience bad and I can now see why people have been recommending us and others at my hotel to go to their competitors along the beach instead (you know the S aavy one lol).
The entrance cost has gone up from last year (now BBD 160 for a couple); actually I've just realised that we were charged the upper charge which comes into effect on 1st November 2026 - errr we were there first week of October when it had been raining hard and was not remotely busy .......what a complete unbelievable hustle !!!!!
You get a BBD40 credit each for the the food and drink prices which sounds great, but they have put the prices up a lot since last year. You can barely get a lunch and one drink between a couple for this amount. Up until this year, we were both getting a lunch and a beer each, with enough credit (with a couple of added dollars) to buy a smoothie before we left ....another hustle !!!!
The included boat /snorkel trip : as the place was dead (no cruise shippers in yet), they only had 2 time-slots for the boat/snorkel trip out to the Bay (they used to run one every couple of hours throughout the day) - so we took the afternoon one (they could not even give us a time when this would happen so we had to shovel down our lunch quickly just in case we got called to the boat - not great idea guys and with the cost!). My partner likes to snorkel, so we went to one of the usual shipwrecks in the bay; most people got off and did their thing for about 20 minutes and then the boat headed back to shore - WHAT.....What about the usual turtle snorkel (apparently there are rays and barricudas there too?) - we never got the turtle snorkel and our boat trip was not the usual 45 minutes it seems.....yet another hustle!!
We all know there is a cost of living crisis around the world (fuel for boats, cost of food, etc - we are all suffering here in the UK too and our holidays cost us thousands of pounds to even get to Barbados in the first place, never mind luxuries like The Boatyard), but don't dare exploit your "bread and butter", i.e. tourists like me who have been coming to Barbados every year for 30 years as obviously I will post my experience on Trip Advisor.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE
