The best way to see the puffins

点评：We took the 6pm trip to the bird cliffs with Johan on his beloved boat Aquila. The boat is small and was full with twelve passengers. All passengers are seated in the outside area at the back of the boat so warm and waterproof clothing is essential. Life jackets were available for those wanting them. Although the boat is small there is plenty of room for getting great up close views of the birds and for taking photographs.
Johan loves to share his experiences of living on Runde in addition to knowledge of the birds. We saw many puffins, northern gannets, guillemots, gulls, shags and kittywakes close to the boat.
We were unable to circumnavigate the island due to rough water on the north and eastern sides. This was not an issue as the birds are largely on the western side of the island. Maybe next time.
This is a great way to observe the birds on Runde and see the island from a different perspective. Highly recommended.
