Orkney Viewpoint的点评
点评：Orkney Viewpoint is a less frequented lookout to view the Drumheller Valley. We spent about 20 minutes up here and we had it mostly to ourselves. There are some trails and benches in the area which give different vantage points for the area and it is excellent for photos. We visited in the mid afternoon and enjoyed our visit but we would also consider visiting during sunset in the future.
The highway on this side of the river was closed due to a mudslide but the Orkney Viewpoint was still accessible via the Bleriot ferry. It would be worth checking road conditions and ferry operations during your visit to the Drumheller area. They have well maintained outhouses here and this would be a good picnic spot. Don't forget sunscreen and/or bug spray in the summer months.
We visited this area after a morning visit to the Royal Tyrell Museum. There are a few attractions in this area that sits to the northwest of Drumheller including the Little Church, Horsethief Canyon, Bleriot Ferry and the Badlands Interpretive Trail. We spent about three hours in the museum and around two hours checking out everything else before returning to the Downtown area of Drumheller.
