点评：Before exploring the Amish countryside around Harmony, I stopped at the Harmony Visitor Center, and I’m so glad I did. It turned out to be one of the best decisions of my day.
The staff member who helped me was incredibly knowledgeable about the local community and Amish culture. She patiently answered my many questions, shared fascinating stories about the history and traditions of the Old Order Amish in the area, and explained many aspects of their way of life that I would never have understood on my own.
She also provided an excellent map with addresses and directions to local Amish farms, bakeries, furniture shops, and other points of interest. Thanks to her recommendations, I spent the afternoon visiting three Amish farms, and it became one of the highlights of my trip to southeastern Minnesota.
The Visitor Center also offers information about a guided Amish tour that lasts about two and a half hours and costs only $30. Although I didn’t have enough time to take the tour, it sounds like an excellent option for anyone wanting to learn even more. The staff can even help you make arrangements.
I also appreciated the recommendations for other local stops, including a nearby café where I enjoyed a delicious ice cream after my afternoon exploring.
