点评:We absolutely loved the boat ride (on the Steven Thomas) over and back from Crisfield to Tangier. The approach from the boat is just as we imagined it would be. Once on land we were quite puzzled. To be greeted by overtly political flags was a bit jarring in a setting that relies on tourism. We opted for the golf cart tour. It was so rushed you couldn't even absorb/enjoy the history of the island. And we were surprised at how much trash and broken items were scattered about the island. On the positive side, our lunch was delightful at Loraine's as 2 of our group are fish/seafood lovers. After lunch we strolled around town hitting up the gift shops. At one, we had what started out as a pleasant chat with the clerk. We chatted about football (one in our group had a t-shirt on that started the chat). It turned quickly when the clerk went off on Colin Koepernick and his morals. Whew!!! Not what a tourist wants to hear. Then we planned to get ice cream. A political sign there turned us off to that. Folks, we're on vacation. We don't want to be assaulted by politics. Your views are your views but they don't have to be front and center. Really, the plight (history and questionable future) of your island should be the focus.
We wish all of you on Tangier Island good will as you struggle forward trying to save what is left of your island from the encroachment of Chesapeake Bay.
Sincerely,
Daniel Busby & Victoria Svetlik

我们衷心祝愿坦吉尔岛上的所有居民在努力保护岛屿、使其免受切萨皮克湾侵蚀的过程中一切顺利。
诚挚祝愿,
丹尼尔·布斯比 & 维多利亚·斯韦特利克
