点评：Although I’d had some kayaking experience, this had been on lakes rather than open sea so a beginner’s course was appropriate for me. From the start I was impressed with the organisational set up at South Sea Kayaks and Janni made me feel confident I was in good hands. I felt she judged my capabilities well and gave me clear and appropriate instructions, adapting along the way as she paid close attention to my progress and my safety. Being out on the open sea in the beautiful surroundings of the Sleat peninsular was a marvellous experience. Janni pointed out interesting geographical features and the wildlife, always mindful of their wellbeing, eg keeping some distance between us and seals with their pups. I was exhausted by the end of the trip but felt, as a 68 year old, I’d been able to rise to the challenge, made possible by Janni, Maria and Amy, all of whom were good fun whilst maintaining our safety at all times.
