Great place for the kids, lovely Animals, soft play & parks, but the cafe let the side down on this occasion unfortunately.

点评：Our son had been asking to visit for some time and wanted us to go as a family, so we finally decided that today was the day.
As we arrived around lunchtime, we headed straight to the café before seeing the animals. We ordered:
- a jacket potato meal
- a cheese and ham panini, which the young staff member serving us said came with crisps and salad,
and a lunch box for our son.
When we checked the receipt, we noticed that we'd been charged an additional £3 for cheese on both the jacket potato and the "cheese" and ham panini. We're also pretty certain that we were charged an additional £1 on the jacket potato meal when comparing it to the company's menu board.
In addition, the panini meal did not arrive with crisps. I politely queried this with a member of staff in case there had been a mistake. After explaining that her colleague had told us the meal included crisps, I was simply told that it did not, and the conversation was awkwardly dismissed. Unfortunately, there was no attempt to resolve the issue or clarify the discrepancy, which was disappointing.
Normally I would let something like this go, but the accumulation of small issues prompted me to leave a review. While an extra £3-£4 may not seem like much, with the current cost of living, every penny counts. The biggest issue was also the fact that any additional charges were not explained to us when ordering.
On a positive note, the rest of the visit was excellent. We loved seeing the animals and insects, taking photos, and learning about them, and we couldn’t fault that part of the experience at all.
We would likely visit again in the future, but whether we use the café again is another matter.
