点评:The Great Ocean Road is a wonderful scenic experience, winding along the cliffs beside the ever restless sea, with long lines of waves heading for the rugged beaches and rock shelves with the lush Otway Ranges in the background. Although narrow and winding, the road is in excellent condition, with plenty of passing areas designated to enable slower vehicles to pull off the road and allow faster travellers to pass, although the trip should not be rushed.
The views along the coast are superb, with many vantage points and lookouts and the Twelve Apostles and nearby geological formations are spectacular, with photos simply not doing their impressive scale and majesty justice. Lorne, Torquay and Port Campbell are pleasant towns for stops along the way. We thought Apollo Bay was rather drab and lacked any real character, although it is a convenient stop along the way, but the best of the towns was Port Fairy, just after Warrnambool at the eastern end of the road - a delightful town full of character and a great place to stay at the end of the trip.
