点评：The park lies on the edge of the Ute Mountain Reservation. They were just one of a number of Indian tribes that occupied this land. The cave dwellings you will see are extraordinary. How industrious do you have to be to build these homes in the overhang of the cliffs?
There are multiple ranger led hikes offered down to different cliff dwellings. Read about the difficulty of the hikes before making your reservation in advance since the groups are limited by size.
This is a very big park with two main spurs leading to cliff dwellings. We did a tour of the Cliff Palace and were forewarned to get to the park at opening (8:00 am) for our tour at 9:00 am (to arrive 15 minutes early. You can't rush through all the hairpins turns as you go up in elevation so word to the wise, arrive early to get to your tour.
My wife & I had been intending to visit this park for years but as I said, you really have to make preparations ahead of time to realize the full value. It is easily a park I would go back to.
