点评:Sunday 8th February and a visit to the fishing village of Bathsheba was an itinerary stop on our organised sightseeing Tour.
The village is located on the rugged and beautiful east coast of Barbados, just over a half an hour drive, directly from the Cruise Port. We did make other stops along the way, so took longer.
Our bus pulled up on the roadside by Bathsheba Park, reviewed separately, as we made our way across the Park the grandeur of the scenery started to unfold.
One of the main features here are the massive boulders along the coast and in the sea, creating an impressive vista.
There was one boulder in particular that it's base had been eroded over time by the Atlantic Ocean, it was also mushroom shaped. People were venturing out into the sea to walk around and under it and take photographs.
The beach itself is a narrow stretch along the coast, it rather rocky, with numerous rock pools, waiting to be explored. The sandy area is peppered with small rocks and stones.
The waves of the Atlantic made the Beach a very popular place with surfers.
Whilst it is an incredible sight the downside is that the beach is not maintained which is a massive shame. There is a great deal of sea weed and so much rubbish along the beach. It would appear most of the rubbish was washed in, however it is not cleaned up, which would make here stunning. Would have rated here as excellent if the beach was clean, the scenery is amazing.
