AquaSplash的点评
点评：Very disappointed with our experience this morning.
My girlfriend is still building her confidence in the water and prefers to stay close to the wall while swimming. During our session, another swimmer in our lane was repeatedly telling her to move, wait, and generally speaking to her in a demanding and rude manner. Instead of being able to enjoy our swim, she was made to feel uncomfortable and unwelcome.
When a lifeguard came over, I tried to explain that my girlfriend was intentionally staying by the wall because it helps her feel safe while she gains confidence. Unfortunately, I felt I wasn't given the chance to explain properly, as I was repeatedly talked over and dismissed. Rather than helping the situation, the interaction left us feeling even more unwelcome.
What was particularly frustrating was that other swimmers in the lane were incredibly understanding. One lady kindly said she had been exactly the same when she first started swimming, and another gentleman encouraged my girlfriend to take her time. Their kindness was appreciated and showed much more understanding than we received from the member of staff.
The experience became so unpleasant that we left after only around 20 minutes, despite paying for the session. Swimming should be welcoming to people of all abilities and confidence levels, and unfortunately that was not our experience.
I would be interested to know whether AquaSplash offers any quieter sessions for less confident swimmers, as we would still like to continue using the facility if there are times that are more suitable.
