Amazing visit to an excellently preserved wealth of interesting facts about the high desert and the life in it.

点评：High Desert Museum is kept in excellent condition and clearly very well cared for. The collections are varied and genuinely interesting, with lots of interactive exhibits that work beautifully for both adults and kids. I especially loved the volcano exhibit — engaging and really well done.
The raptor center was a standout. Seeing the actual birds up close was incredible, and the hawk talk was unforgettable — having a live hawk flying through the crowd was such a special experience. I also really enjoyed learning about how people historically lived in the high desert; that section was thoughtful and informative.
What impressed me most was how new and functional everything felt — nothing broken, outdated, or neglected. The museum is extremely well planned, well maintained, and staffed by people who are genuinely friendly and enthusiastic. It’s rare to find a place that does education, conservation, and family fun this well. Highly recommend!
