点评:This was used as the private residence/summer home of Hawaiian royalty, so it isn't as fancy as Iolani on Oahu, but it's worth the visit. Note that you'll need to remove your shoes before entering. On the first floor is an entryway with portraits on the walls and an interesting photo of what Hulihe'e looked like before it was renovated. The room on the right is full of artifacts used by native Hawaiians in their daily lives, such as textile tools and fishing equipment. The room on the left is the dining room. Upstairs is a parlor and 2 bedrooms with furnishings from when the royalty used to live there. It's cool to be looking at the same furniture and standing in the same rooms as these historic figures. The staff gave me a laminated info sheet when I first entered, which had some information about each room. This was helpful, because the signage was minimal. What would make this really great would be an audio tour like the one at Iolani. As I was walking through, I felt like I was viewing something important, but without someone there to interpret what I was looking at, I didn't get as much out of it as I could have. It's a nice way to spend an hour though, and you can take your time - you're not required to leave at a certain time once you enter.
