点评:For such a beautiful park, Indiana has really neglected this site. We camped here for two nights and found the staff very friendly. Bathrooms are clean, but very dated and old. The trails are poorly maintained, trees down and major obstructions, with broken benches along the trails. The "pond trail" no longer had any lagoon or pond to walk around. Only 15 campsites were occupied of the 200, the pool has been closed for years. It would have been a major attraction on such a hot day. It appears the most important activity for maintenance was to begin mowing the 1/4" of campsite grass at 6:50 am, waking up the sole family in the tent with the baby.
This is our second experience of Indiana neglecting its infrastructure. Their priorities do not appear to support tourism and the money that be generated with properly maintained parks and trails. Most state parks make maintenance of their unique parks a priority. In our travels across the country, Indiana rates poorly. We will not visit again.
The town of New Harmony has an interesting history and well worth a visit.
