梅尔维尔火车之旅的点评
点评：After reading so many negative reviews I had low expectations. The train is clean and very comfortable. The ride offers many spectacular views just be prepared to stand up at times to look out either side. Yes there are tunnels- one is interesting as it turns like a switch back though you cannot really tell but seeing the track you came from/ going to helps you appreciate it. You see one hilltop village from a distance. It is a pleasant way to travel if you do not have a car and want to get out of the city for a day trip. One could figure out how to utilize the pass to get on and off at different stops also skip the commentary and start earlier- you won’t have missed much (IMO).
What. Can recommend is a day in Tende! Time to explore the village, the free museum , have delicious food- we had a great experience at Ca Beigne- delicious food, generous portions and great service ,(friendly and timing). We did the hike up to tye Chapelle Saint Saveur- spectacular views it is not for the faint of heart ( the last bit at the top) , it is an uphill hike taking your time at least 2.5-3 hours from the village. Train ride home offers new views.
We took the 9:30 am train and arrived at 11:30 am in Tende we only had time for lunch, the hike and museum before catching the 4:30pm you could go earlier,( risk of morning haze so train views not as good possibly), or stay later for a train around 6pm.
