点评:Visited the Skywalk for the first time a few days ago. The view from the bridge of the Fall foliage was supposed to be a highpoint for me but unfortunately Mother Nature had other ideas! I spoke to a Park Ranger while on my trek out to the end of the bridge to ask about the lack of leaves on most of the trees…his response was that area suffered a drought earlier in the summer followed by a FROST in August (yes at the end of Summer)…the poor trees in the valley didn’t stand a chance this year of producing their vibrant colors. That being said, my visit was still outstanding! The idea of standing 321’ in the air where such a catastrophe occurred back in 2003 was bone chilling…maybe the 40* temperature also had something to do with that plus the strong wind gusts so when planning your visit remember to wear comfortable shoes & dress accordingly…I was wearing my winter jacket & scarf but left my gloves & hat in my car! Be sure to also go into the Visitors Ctr…street level display area with life size bronze statues & lots of information plus fun interactive areas downstairs so don’t be afraid or embarrassed to push the buttons, turn the handles or open the drawers…that’s what they’re there for! Also take a few minutes to watch a short video while sitting in a train car! There’s also a play ground area for the kids outside onsite! This visit was top notch!
