奥林匹克国家森林公园的点评
点评：Flattery will Get You... Well, Somewhere! We loved all of the green in Olympic National Forest - the verdant, salubrious, oxygen-providing, moss-covered, wind-blocking trees were the stars of the show. This park covers a large area, and on one of the days, we opted to drive as far northwest as we could. Like, as far northwest as anyone could.
It is said that flattery will get you everywhere. Well... Cape Flattery will get you to the northwesternmost point in the lower 48 states. You see, we get restless and like to wander to places that might be good trivia fodder someday. Cape Flattery fit the bill. We saw Canada in the distance, but otherwise, we didn't see much at Cape Flattery. No whales. An unremarkable lighthouse. Overcast, gray skies. But, no matter. Come for the moss-covered trees, and stay for the fun boardwalk-style walking paths. Other tourists had found their way here as well - maybe fifty people or so - not many, really. This was a driving excursion well worth our time and the $20 permit, and I am glad we took ourselves on a detour here.
