Relaxing canoe down Nam Song river with excellent Than None water cave

点评：We used Green Discovery as we were staying at the
Inthira Hotel (nice place to stay). We were glad we did as our afternoon tour (3 hour Kayak and cave) was excellent. Whilst we had booked a group tour it ended up being just the 2 of us. Si (hope that is spelt correctly) was probably the best guide we've had on our month + long Asian adventure.
We were transported out of the lively Vang Vieng, up river by our spritely driver, a well known individual in VV. The first part of the tour we were totally on our own on the river, gently paddling /steering the canoe through stunning scenery and the odd gentle rapid, whilst Si in his canoe provided commentary, and answered our questions.
We arrived at the caves, walked a short distance, swapping canoe for rubber ring. We pulled ourselves through the amazing cave, before doing the second half walking (some in ankle deep water so glad of our water shoes) still through this large cave system. We were SO fortunate to be totally on our own the whole time. There were 50+ tubes at the start, waiting to be used! After a short walk we were back in canoes heading back to VV. At this point we passed several of the pit stops with music and drinks for the younger set who were tubing down the river. Been there, done that, but many years ago now. It was the perfect way to spend a VV afternoon with a sufficient breeze on the river to make it relaxing rather than hard work.
