Interesting, wonderful visit to Bolton Castle

点评：This surprisingly was our first visit despite visiting and staying nearby on several occasions over the years. We enjoyed it so much we have already recommended to others and we intend to return.
Car parking £5 payable by card and cash. There are well maintained toilets in car parking and castle. Public footpaths nearby and areas to have a picnic.
We also visited St Oswald church just across from the castle, a charming church now run by volunteers. Full of stories and had a peaceful feel to it.
The castle is full of history and we found it very interesting. Views from the top were wonderful despite the wind. At times the steps are uneven and can be steep but a railing was present and other visitors were understanding of the pace and situation.
We only caught the ending of the owl talk unfortunately which was inside due to the weather. The lady seemed very knowledgeable about barn owls. We couldn’t stay for the later talk as we had another commitment.
We had a lovely pot of tea and a millionaire flapjack in the cafe. The staff were friendly and helpful. A lovely cafe with excellent choice of sandwiches, cakes and quiche etc.
The staff were friendly throughout and it was helpful to be given an information sheet with a map of the castle.
The gardens were delightful and again with wonderful views.
It was nice to also see the wild boar and piglets. Very cute piglets.
We really enjoyed our time here, would have stayed a little longer if we didn’t have another commitment. Interesting and full of history. Thank you.

我们在咖啡馆里享用了美味的茶和点心。工作人员热情又乐于助人。这是一家很棒的咖啡馆，提供各式各样的三明治、蛋糕和乳蛋饼等。
整个过程中工作人员都十分友善，还为我们提供了带有城堡地图的信息手册，很有帮助。
花园十分宜人，景色也美不胜收。
能看到野猪和小猪也挺有趣的，那些小猪真是可爱极了。我们非常享受在这里的时光，若不是还有其他安排，真想多待一会儿。这里很有趣，也充满了历史气息。谢谢。
